You don't have to remain stuck in your misery. Of course, feelings don't just go away over night. But if you're brave, you can create a great new future for yourself. The first step is to seize every moment. You might not feel like it right now, but if you look around, you will discover countless opportunities for happiness.

Anyone who has been through a painful separation knows exactly how stressful this can be. It comes as no surprise then, that a split can be very detrimental to health. A number of studies suggest that the trauma of breaking up with partner can lead to all sorts of health problems including migraines, skin problems, depression and insomnia - even heart disease. High stress levels suppress the immune system and this increases your risk of disease. But as long as you are aware of these factors there's no need to panic. Often making the simplest lifestyle changes can help to safeguard your health. It's only natural to become more introspective after a break-up. For many people, the end of relationship can feel like the end of the world, especially if they've married or living together for a long time. Suddenly you're faced with all sorts of decisions and insecurities about your future.All these dilemmas come at a time when you're emotionally at your most vulnerable and stressed.

The first few weeks after you've split up with someone can be a bit daunting. You may also find that your energy levels are lower than usual. Challenges and obstacles are the great teachers. Difficult situations force us to look deep inside and discover what we're made of. Everyone reacts differently when they split up with their partner. Some people feel like crawling into a corner to lick their wounds and vow they'll never let anyone get that close again. Others can't wait to get out there and meet as many new people as possible in an attempt to heal their pain. Eventually, for most people there comes a point when they're keen to meet someone special again.
